Maybe 3/4 of a mile in there is this small rock face to climb down. Someone in the past added a good sturdy rope and some steel cable to hold onto. To watch a short video of some of my friends coming down click HERE.
2.6 miles in and on the crest of a ridge there is a picnic shelter built by the State of Hawaii w/the help of one of the local Boy Scout troops. A few years ago the roof was replaced. For some reason the State has still not hauled off all of the old roof. Some pretty sloppy hikers and hunters have also left lots and lots of rubbish just off the trail. Shame on all three, the State, the hikers and the hunters.
