Maybe 1/2 mile in you climb a small hill and get this view of the Wai`anae Mts.
Just a bit past the above spot I took this picture. This is what the trail looks like for most of the first 3 miles. It is reasonably wide and follows an old ditch/tunnel system that use to bring stream water to the sugar fields of Pearl City. It is a very steep drop on the left and a long way down. You don't want to fall over the edge.
