That's me crossing the intake to the old flume at Kanewai Dam #1. The dam is behind me. This picture was taken a few years ago. For some reason I don't have a good picture of the dam.
After crossing the dam on Kanewai Stream we cut off to the right along a dry stream bed. In time we come to a junction. The Wai`anae Ramble Trail continues on the right and the Water Works Trail goes off to the left. Here the group slows down climbing up from the stream bed to what soon becomes a broad ridge.
