Once climbing to the broad ridge we wander thru some coffee trees and then thru this ironwood forest. As we enter the ironwood we can hear Kaniwai Stream running strong over the dam and rocks. You can see one of the trail markers in this photo.
This is Kanewai Dam #2. There are some avocado trees in the area. You can also see the remains of the old flume although not in this picture. The pipe line you see replaced the flume and is now used by the BWS . This pipe comes from Tunnel #19 and we well be walking along the pipe for about 15 minutes.
