About 1 hour after my Power Bar break we reached the end of the line for today. To get to this point we scrambled up very steep slopes, mostly following pig trails. And talking about pigs, we saw "droppings" all over the place. Fresh droppings, BIG droppings. These pigs up here are BIG. Danny was to busy looking for safe places to place his feet and hands and took few pictures on the scramble up. Here is one of me as I approached our highest point for the day. The elevation there was about 2400', the top was about 2900'. We will be back another day.

Once I reached the spot in the above picture where Danny was sitting we looked above. We were in a little horse shoe spot with walls around on all sides. The south side had some erosion with exposed roots and was climbable. I stood on the roots and took this shot looking up. We decided coming down w/o a rope from up there would be a little hairy and went no farther. But, see the nice thick tree trunk? Next time we come up we'll bring some rope to tie off that tree. Where we were today we saw NO CUT branches. We believe we are the first to get this high in this valley.
