From my back yard you can get a great view of the Wai`anae Pali.  It's a panorama so use your scroll arrows.  The high peak on the left is Mt. Ka`ala the highest point on O`ahu at 4025'.  The highest peak on the right is Kalena, the second highest peak on O`ahu at approx 3400'.  Between the two is one high peak.  That peak and the ridge coming down is what we call Hobb's Ridge.  Elevation at the summit is approx. 3100'.

The fastest route to Hobb's Ridge would be to follow the trail I have named Wai`anae Water Works as far as the "Stairs".  At that point we switch over to the Wai`anae Ramble Trail for about 10 minutes until it crosses Hobb's Ridge.  Then we'd just "wander" up Hobb's Ridge and see how far could we get.  Starting at the Forestry Gate we walk up the road a few minutes and then take off into the brush on the right.  We soon meet up w/another road, this one not really quite paved.
