At Lookout Point we leave the road and hit the trail.  Soon we are at Kaniwai Dam #1.  There we cross the stream and head up hill.  About 20 minutes later we are at Kaniwai Dam #2.  Here Danny took a picture.  You can see a pipe crossing above the stream.  It comes from a water catchments tunnel.  On that pipe is a faucet where one can drink cool water from deep in the Wai`anae Mountains.  This is some of the best water you can find anywhere.

The trail follows the pipeline up to the Ramble Trail and to the tunnel where the pipe begins.  The water in the pipe is used by the Board of Water Supply to supply homes in Wai`anae Valley.  Near the Ramble Trail there is a "Tee" on the pipe and some water is allowed to flow from the pipe back into the stream to keep the stream "alive".  This water is also drinkable.
