After walking for a while the trail turned into a very washed out road. At one time it was paved with coral. Coral chips and powder are all over the place. There is a sign here that I did not get a picture of. This is point E in Ball's trail guide. There are 4 trails coming to the sign.

1-Is the one coming up from the stream that we took to get here.

2-Goes straight ahead and I'm not sure where it goes.

3-Turns right and is marked with ribbons. This returns you to the check in station.

4-Turns left and leads to the upper route.

Our group split here. Most returned to the trail head and split for places unknown. Seven hardy ones took the left trail despite the warning on the sign about this being a hunting area. The left hand trail passes these old WW II bunkers. It looks like they had guns inside once upon a time.
