Deep in the valley we attempted to hike even deeper by going up a dry stream bed. We didn't get to far as we ran into a "wall" of Christmas Berry trees so thick we decided not to try to cut a path. But we did find another rare native, Hao (Rauvolfia sandwicensis). This was just a small one, but we found a very large one earlier in the day.
