This is where I planned to work. This slide washed away about 50 feet of the trail. I think this happened in 2006 The first time I saw this section the trail was gone. We sent our lightest hiker across first w/a rope to tie off. That would be Bal Dasa who has since passed on to that great hiking trail in the sky. A trail of sorts has been cut across the slide, but with each rain the level section gets eroded little by little.
After about 45 minutes chopping away at the loose dirt I managed to get the trail a little wider and level. It is still only about 1 foot wide and if you slip and can't hold on to the rope you are in for a long slide down perhaps 100 feet or more. After finishing my job I walked across w/the CAMERA FILMING.
