Just before we reached the paved BWS road we spotted this vine in full flower and had to take some pictures.  It is Solanum seaforthianum  and is often seen in drier areas of Wai`anae and Makaha Valleys.  It has red berries as you can see in the second photo.

Gene took a different route out as he wanted to pick up some old bottles he found and stashed last year.  We were in communications w/our FRS radios, and since he got down early and knew where we were he hid in the tall grass and jumped out scaring the "hell" our of Jane.  It's hard to tell just by the picture but she let out one LOUD SCREAM. Me I just jumped back one step and Stanka well not sure what she did besides bringing her hands up to her mouth.  BAD BOY GENE!!!!!
