After visiting the Ahu we walked across a grass field and when down into the Ka`iahi stream bed to look as some huge slabs of sand stone w/petroglyph cut into the soft rock.
Some of the glyphs are of `Ilio the dog, and of people. The small round holes w/white around them are believed to be bullet holes. Fred was telling us that when he first walked around the valley w/an old Hawaiian man who use to live in the valley, the man told him that he remembers the stones as laying flat on the surface above the stream level.
