The palms are on a dead end trail.  On the way back to the main trail we stopped to look at this giant tree.  It is an Elephant Ear Pod Tree.  Known scientifically as Enterolobium cyclocarpum.

While walking down the BWS road I noticed this pretty pink flower and remembered what it was.  It's tobacco.  Now how the heck did it wind up growing here in Makaha Valley.  Not from a discarded cigarette I'm sure.  I have some growing wild in my yard also.  I have know idea where they came from.
