Another panorama taken from the same spot. Mt. Ka`ala on the left at 4025 feet it is the highest point on O`ahu. Going right the next peak has no Hawaiian name we know of and is called by hikers as Hobb's Peak. Hunters call the ridge leading up to the summit "Snake Ridge" even though there are no snakes in Hawai`i. Keep going right and the next peak is Kalena, the second highest on the island at something like 3500 feet. At the extreme right are two twin peaks. The higher one we learned today is Kamali`i, elevation around 2900 feet.
Back from the heiau, we followed the stream to a Kalo (taro) patch planted by a couple of young Hawaiian men. They have been working on it for about a year. Looks like there is a lot ready to harvest. Eh, NO TOUCH IF YOU NEVA PLANT UM!!!!! BUM-BY YOU GET DIRTY LICKINS!!!! :-)
