The trail above the sisal goes up and up and up. At first it is through a forest of lemon eucalypts trees. Higher the vegetation changes to smaller trees I can't identify. There is also lots of Strawberry Guava, Ti, and Christmas Berry. Somewhere way up high a view to the right came in and I saw what looked like a narrow valley that cuts across or thru the Wai`anae Pali, and might be another way to the summit. We'll have to check that out another day.

At about 2300' above sea level we came to a picnic bench. I first saw the bench back in January of 2002 when I last climbed this ridge. For more info about that trip check out this link: http://www.angelfire.com/hi5/htmctmc/hobbsridge2002/hobbsridge200101.htm
Here is a picture of the rotting bench as it looked today.
