This was the view toward Mt. Ka`ala who's summit was 900' higher than where we were.  There was also a cliff to climb and we were not sure we could do it.  Another reason to go back down Hobb's.  We left the top about 1:30.

This is the Christmas Berry tree where the old strap was tied and where Michael tied the 70' of rope he had.  You can see the bright white rope and Michael about to drop down the 6' cliff with one hand on a sturdy branch and the other on the rope.  To get to this spot we did a lot of "climbing" on the seat of our pants, inching our way lower.  It only took 1/2 hour to reach this point coming down.  Going up it took over 1 hour from here to the summit.
