This is the second rock face to climb. Again you could walk thru the tunnel. Bob leads the way again. (of course I've already done it to take the picture.
We reached the 1 1/2 mile marker at 8:26. We had been walking about 37 minutes. At approx. 8:45 the trail crosses another stream. This one had some water. The cross point is clearly marked with a sign and arrow. After crossing the stream contiune to the right and the trail slowly climbs the ridge. Just after the stream crossing on the left you can see another tunnel that goes right thru the ridge you are about to climb. You can see light shinning in from the other side. The 2 1/2 mile marker is about 1/2 way up the ridge that is coverd with large eucaliptus trees. On the crest of the ridge is a shelter built by the Boy Scouts and the State. It was now 8:58 and we have been walking for 56 min. We rested here for about 10 min.
