After the leaving the shelter the trail continues on the left side of the ridge. The trail is pretty level but in some places it is down hill. The photo below is looking down to the left of the trail at a large patch of bamboo.
Here you are looking straight down from the trail about 2-3 hundred feet to the stream below. There are NO hand rails to keep you from falling, but the trail is a few feet wide and you'd have to be areal clutz to fall
