Once on top of Kamaileunu Ridge we ate lunch and then tried to follow the Ancient Kumaipo Trail into Makaha. We lost the trail about 1/3 of the way down and wound up using a hunters trail to reach the valley floor. This is our native mistloetoe, or hulumoa. Scientifically known as Korthalsella complanata, (thanks Dave E for the ID).

The Kumaipo trail is marked w/the royal Hawaiian colors.
