Star Trek Completed

3 October 2007

Dan and I began working on this trail in June of this year when exploring Hobb's Ridge.  I then thought I saw a "path" up to the Wai`anae Summit thru a valley that cut across the Wai`anae Pali.  It took 7 expeditions and the additional help of Mike 3 times, Roy, Jean T, Brian and Patrick once each.  You can check our progress over the following links:

Below is a chart roughing out the paths tried above Skull Rock.

On July 4th Jean, Mike, Dan and I took route #1.

On  September 2nd Richard and I went up to skull rock to fly balloons while Roy, Brian and Patrick went up Hobb's Ridge and cleared to Kalena.  That same day Dan and Michael came in along the summit from Kolekole Pass.  Mike came down route #2, while Roy, Dan, Brian and Patrick returned to Kolekole Pass.

On the 30th of September Michael and Dan went up from Wai`anae again and laid out route #3.  On October 3rd Dan and I went up route 3 clearing more and putting up safety lines.

We now have over 700' of rope and webbing along the trail as it is a VERY dangerous trail.  You'd better have NO FEAR OF HEIGHTS to take this route.   You could fall and DIE in a number of places.

Ok back to the October 3rd story.  Here Dan is a head of me on the road below Look Out Point.

And here I come.  Notice the rainbow behind and above me.
