Once in a while the forest would open and give a view across Wai`anae Valley with Kamaileunu Ridge in the distance (panorama).
After leaving the level section and the black webbing the trail climbs rapidly to Skull Rock. We zigged and zagged our way up on a few switch backs. Just below Skull Rock we came to this spot where the trail sort of washed away during the week. I was able to cross w/my steel cleats but Dan could not. I came back down and climbed above where Dan is standing in the picture. Then I tied off this 20' length of red webbing to give Dan something to hang onto.
