This hike proved to be a wonderful hike even though we missed the
trail we intended to take to the crater rim. More about that later.
The trail head is at the end of Waiomao Road in Palolo Valley. To get
there follow the below map and or verbal directions.
1-To get there, take H1 East, (that's toward Hawaii Kai) then exit at Koko Head.
2-Turn left on Koko Head Ave.
3-Go down Koko Head 2 blocks and turn left on Waialae Ave.
4-After 2 blocks on Waialae Ave turn right on to 10th Ave.
5-Drive up 10th Ave somewhat over a mile and take the right fork onto Waiomao Road.
6-Drive slowly to the very end of a narrow road and park on the right just below a Kapu sign.
