This trail is also known as the Maunawili Demonstration Trail. We
began this hike on the windward side of the Pali Highway at the
hairpin turn. There is another trail head that starts from the Pali
Lookout parking lot. There is a slight incline at the beginning from
the hairpin turn starting point. The rest of the trail is basicly
level, although as the trail zigs and zags into the valleys there are
some small ups and downs. We walked in for about 2 1/2 mile of the
total 10 miles. We then sat down for a long relaxing lunch and then
returned to the starting point. A few of the more adventurous left a
car at the Waimanalo end of the trail and then drove back to the
beginnng. They completed the whole 10 miles. Here are my pictures of
this easy family type hike.
