While doing some research on the internet I found some data from the late 1800's for Wai`anae. The information was reported by the Wai`anae Sugar Plantation manager. The only problem is I have no idea from where in the valley the readings were taken. I have NOT entered them in the Total/Average columns. The year 2008 is the first full year w/my automatic rain measuring device. It captures 0.04" of rain at a time and then empties itself and begins again. Each .04" reading is transmitted a recording unit in the house. In December of 2008 I bought another rain guage. This one will record as little as 0.01 inch of rain.
2009-Wow, I new it was dry this year, but WOW. Not this dry.
2010-Much better than last year, but still below the average.
