This fan palm is endemic to the Dominican Republic growing in open savannas, in dry areas. It's trunk can reach 20 feet high, but it is a very SLOW growing palm.
I purchased mine in a conetainer from Kapoho Palms in 1998.
It went into the ground in 2001. The first picture was taken in April of
2003.
I switched beer brands in 2005 and it shows a bit of growth.
Two years later I think I see one more leaf. Is it any bigger?
