Pritchardia schattaueri

P. schattaueri is endemic to the island of Hawai`i on it's southwester side.  It was discovered in 1985 and there are only a few dozen growing in the wild naturally  It is a tall palm and may reach heights of 130 feet with a diameter of 1 foot.

Like most of my other Pritchardias this was purchased from Kapoho Palms in a conetainer.  The first picture I have is when it was planted in November of 1998.

Just a few years later in 2001 it had grown into a very nice sized palm.
