This palm is endemic to the island of Kauai and grows in rain forests. The trunk can reach heights of 80' with a diameter of up to 1 foot.
But like so many of the palms I'm growing it is quite happy here in dry Wai`anae w/irrigation twice a week. It came from Kapoho Palms as a conetainer and was planted out in November of 1998.
