This palm is along the eastern nations of Africa, in the tropical areas of Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa and on the island of Madagascar. It is a clustering palm with trunks that can reach heights of 30 feet.
I was sent a seed from my friend Dennis in South Africa. Thanks it's growing great.
Here it is after going in the ground in 2003
Two years later in 2005 it was looking good.
Now in February of 2008 it has begun to clump.
