You can find this palm in habitat in monsoonal savannas in Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. I can reach heights of 100 feet and have a trunk diameter of up to one foot.
I planted this from seed, but I can't remember the sourse. The first picture shows it being planted out in 1998.
One year in the ground showed fantastic growth.
Five and 1/2 years later it had about 5 feet of trunk.
