In habitat this palm is found only in the rain forests of southern Mexico.
It is a solitary trunked palm that here is planted in two clumps each w/approx. 4 plants. It may reach 8 feet under ideal conditions. Who knows what will happen here in dry Wai`anae.
It seems to be growing well, the color has darkened. The first was taken in Aug of 2005, the second in February of 2008.
