This palm is native to northeastern Brazil, northern Bolivia and eastern Peru. The trunk can grow up to 30' high with a diameter of over 18".
Here in my garden it has shown fantastic growth over the past 10 years. The first photo is at planting time in 1998 the second was taken in 2005. I have to go out soon and get another photo as this palm is MUCH bigger now in 2008.
