Today Dan, David and I began to scout the trail going up what HTMC calls Keaau Ridge in Ohikilolo Valley. I believe it was pioneered by Pat Rorie (sometimes known as Paka) in 2008. I climbed the trail w/the "club" in 2008 and missed the 2009 hike. If you have to hike in from the highway the walk along the road is about 1 3/4 miles. If you can open the gate w/combo and permission from DLNR you can save 1/4 of a mile one way. We were able to drive in to the second gate.
Both Dan and I took pictures today as well as a HD video that I took. Dan's pictures are the smaller ones as I had to download them from eMail he sent.
