Around 10:40 I reached the end of the State Kuli`ou`ou Trail and took a well deserved break and ate a power bar.  Jane was waiting there for me along w/others who were breaking  and deciding weather to go down the State Trail or continue on the KST (Ko`olau Summit Trail) and go down the North ridge of Kuli`ou`ou Valley completing the 7 mile loop.  The view was fantastic, the skies crispy clear.  Off in the distance is Manana Islet and below is the sleepy town of Waimanalo.  See the hang glider?

From the end of the State Trail it really gets dangerous.  Jane was thinking of going down the State Trail using the excuse that she had not seen one of the female hikers in a long time who was going down that trail.  I gave her a hard time about that and she took off w/me heading along the KST.  In this picture you see a rise of maybe 50 feet that we have to scramble up.  There are ropes put up by people unknown to help on this slope of loose soil.  I took a video of Jane climbing it.
