After reaching 2500 feet we came to a rather large boulder in the middle of the trail. Trying to figure how to get around or over it brought on light rain. Well not really, the rain came because of changing weather conditions, not trying to get around the boulder. We turned back as a wet ridge and webbing would make the descent more dangerous.
On the way down I spotted this Sandalwood tree, a Hawaiian native and one pretty rare in Makaha. This is the first one I've seen on the leeward side of the Wai`anae Mountains.
