When Gene and I first climbed to the "King's" shoulder back in February of this year we thought that by continuing up the ridge we might be able to get around some of the rock faces and reach the WST (Wai`anae Summit Trail". Today we pushed on above the King and almost made it to the top. Well we think we were almost there.

Here is a picture of our destination. It is the ridge just to the right of the light. The one that is half in the shade and have in the light.
And a close up from the same place on the paved road. You can see King Kong inbetween the trees just to the right of center. Its that dark area.
