After leaving the open spot on the last page we began to climb again. The hike is mostly in the shade of tall introduced exotic trees. Many sections leading to the back of Ahiki are covered w/the lovely Laua`e fern .
After climbing slowly for perhaps 20 minutes we cam to this big rock in the middle of the ridge, it had a trail going right and left. Ahead of me it seemed all the hikers had taken the left trail and I followed them. Turns out the right side of the big rock would have been a better route.
