After about 3/4 mile the trail leaves the ridge crest and begins the switchbacks to the cross-over. Hear you can see how wide the trail is in sections were it had been cleared in the past.
Just beyond the above photo was a massive "blow down". Looks like at least 3 trees crashed down across the trail. Using the chain saw I attacked it. To bad I forgot to take a before picture. This is the finished product. Mike helped a lot using his hand saw on the smaller branches.
