There is a lot of interesting vegetation along the trail here is a club moss known to the Hawaiians as Wawai`iole and to scientists as Lycopodiella cernua.
This is know to the Hawaiians as Ohia ha, and to scientists as Syzygium sandwicensis. It is native to the Hawaiian Islands and the fruit can be eaten, but is not the best tasting thing around.
