We now approach the second site along the trail, Kanewai Dam #2.
Like the first dam which you did not see, this was built most likely a hundred years or so to divert stream water in to flumes and later pipes to irrigate Waianae's long gone sugar cane fields. The pipe you see carries water into the BWS system and is most likely some of the water at my house.
