Last Sundays hike up Tiki Ridge was to pave the way for today's hike w/the Solemates. They/we are a loosely knit group that hikes together each Wednesday. No formal organization or leadership. They/we just hike together. Around 9:30 a.m. as usual we left my house for the trail head in a car pool of sorts. Here you see us heading up the paved BWS road.
At the end of the paved road we turned left into the "bush". After about 20 minutes of hiking up along Kumaipo Stream we split into two groups. One group that doesn't have a problem w/rock faces and ropes went up Tiki Ridge. The rest continued up along Kumaipo stream and then climbed a different and much safer ridge to the crest of the ridge between Wai`anae and Makaha valleys.
