Due to past explorations we had a good idea on which ridge King Kong lived and off we went. On the way up I noticed this little plant in a forest of guava. At first I thought it was Lama, but now I see it is not. Lama has alternate leaves and this has opposite leaves. It was just a little shoot maybe 1 foot high. It looks like the upper part of the trunk broke off. It may be a very young Alahe`e, with no noticeable trunk color.
Still higher it became obvious that a pretty big pig had gone this way not long ago.
