During the March 2007 trail clearing my buddy Bal Dasa had a heart attack and died on this trail. Later that year I place an American flag and a plack w/his name on it where the chopper picked him up. A strong gust of wind blew it away a few months later. So this year I replaced it. This time I used two lengths of rope to hopefully hold it in place. That's "Big John" in the top picture.
