Today we helped Al reopen his section of the Makaha Canyons Loop. Al has a portion of the big loop that he layed out and uses a few times a week to keep him and his two Golden Retrievers in shape. It is a 1.5 mile loop that begins and ends at his house. There are a good number of native plants to be seen hiding amongst the invasive exotic plants. We divided into two teams one going clock wise and the other counter clockwise. We would meet somewhere in the middle and then again at Al's house for some nourishment and good conversation.

At first I couldn't figure out what this was, but after coming home and looking in John Hall's book I decided it was Alahe`e. Some how it looks a little different to me.
