The next "little" valley has a stream with running water and on the west bank of the stream is a cattle ranch with a fence line to keep the cows out of the forest. Well, in some places it has a fence and in many the fence has been knocked down by "what ever" and the cattle have free access to the water as well as the lower forest.
The heiau is just on the other side of the fence and over the past 100 plus years has been damaged by free running cattle. Here you can see Gene approaching the rear wall.
