Somewhere around 10:40 a.m. we reached the point where the Kumaipo trail comes down from Kamaileunu Ridge and meets the main Makaha Valley trail. We turned right and begain working our way thru the brush. Half Red and Half Yellow bottle caps were brought along and attached to non-native trees to mark the way. The pig hunters have the trail pretty well clear, but quite narrow. We will have to open it wider as we go. After about 10 minutes behind the loppers Dan passed them off to Emi and gave her a lesson on trail clearing.

Deep in a section w/mostly coffee trees I found the remains of a small bird egg. The color here is off. It was a light blue w/speckles.
