Just below Kanewai Dam #2 is this patch of Iron Wood trees and signs of ancient terrace walls. You can also see one of the blue Water Works trail markers.
As we leave the iron woods above the sound of running water comes to our ears. This is the approach to Kanewai Dam #2 video here. At the dam a pipe runs across with a water faucet protruding. This water comes from tunnel 19 higher in the valley. It is in my opinion the best tasting water in the world! This dam also use to divert water into a flume system. Now the water in the pipe which comes from a tunnel w/a sealed entrance is used by the BWS and it is probably the water that supplies my home below.
