From Kanewai Dam #2 the trail follows this pipeline deeper into the valley. The pipeline runs along the right bank of Kanewai stream.
Just 30 feet or so shy of the junction w/the Wai`anae Ramble Trail is this valve and "tee" connection. Water is allowed to flow out of the pipeline to keep the stream environment from drying up and dying and also as stated earlier water at the first dam is used at the Ka`ala Learning Center.
