Ok here we are elevation approx 2650' above sea level.  We are faced with this huge rock face blocking the trail.  It is about 20' high.  Either we go up and over it or we turn around and admit defeat.  We had been lucky on two rocks below going right and we tried that here.  One can go along the rock face on a narrow ledge about 10' till you run out of ledge.  Danny tried to climb on the right side but found tha some of the small rocks he was standing on were loose.  Not good so he came down.  We then looked at the middle.  There were many cracks and little lips where one could grab w/fingers and places for feet.  The only question was were they solid?  If someone got half way up and found out he was trying to support himself on a loose rock, NOT GOOD.

So the next step was explor aronud the left side.  There it looked like we could climbe up added by Christmas Berry trees, an angle to the rock face and some places to put ones feet.  Danny went up carrying just the rope we brought just for this purpose.  All packs and cutting tools were laying on the ground.  Danny struggled but managed to climb/crawl to the top.  He then tied off the rope to a strong branch on a tough old Christmas Berry tree and tossed the other end down to me on the middle section.
