At 12:40 at an elevation of about 2600' we took our lunch break. It was not at a level spot, but there was this big strong tree that offered someplace to sit w/out falling back down.
Just above out lunch spot was this huge rock face which to us looked like some kind of Tiki shaped head. Michael was ahead of us and we were not sure if he went to the left or the right. I tried to go to the right, but it was very steep and I could see no foot prints in the loose soil. So we then tried left. Jean checked it out and said it looked like a trail. There was a big drop from the trail and Dan didn't think it was the trail. So we called Michael on the radio and asked him to come back down to show us where he went.
I'm sure he just loved back tracking to help us. Here you can see Jean and Dan on the very narrow trail. You can sort of see how steep it is above and below the trail.
