Thought you might be through looking at pictures of palms, WRONG, this is a Royal Palm, most likely the Florida Royal, Roystonea regia. It has small seeds and I'd blame the birds again.
At one of the crossings there were signs of an old land slide, and a nice deep pool that might be fun to dunk in during the summer.
